Worthing College Netball Academy took two teams to play BHASVIC in the Sussex Netball League on 16th January.
The 1st team took a while to settle with a lot of inaccurate balls being fed into the circle to Betsy. Defensively throughout the court Worthing were strong – end of 1st qtr was 13-8. In the 2nd qtr the girls improved their play with some lovely drives down court and super shooting to finish. Defensively Iona and Eli only let in 3 goals – half time score 28-11 to Worthing.
The second half continued in the same way with Worthing dominating throughout. Bethen moved into the defensive circle with Eli and a good partnership evolved with Grace intercepting numerous balls at wd. Phoebe and Holly fed Lexie and Betsy well – 3 quarter time was 45-16. In the final quarter Iona moved to gs and shot extremely well. The Worthing team did not let up only conceding 2 goals in the final quarter – final score was 61-19. The second team started the match extremely well despite the slippery courts. Phoebe and Lauren shot brilliantly and defensively Worthing were strong throughout the court – 1st quarter was 12-4. In the second quarter the girls continued to play well with some good feeding by Eve and Becky. Keeleigh, Maddy and Emily intercepted numerous balls – half time score 19-8 to Worthing.
The second half continued to be dominated by Worthing with some great pressure on the passes from everyone. Shooting was not as accurate but the weather conditions were against us.
