Worthing College netball 1st team fresh from their brilliant National Schools win on Saturday, travelled to play BHASVIC 1st team in the Sussex League. As always we knew it would be a tough game as they have some quality players in their team.

The girls started slowly and struggled to get the ball into the attacking circle. Errors crept into their play and the defence of Iona, Charlotte and Kira turned over numerous balls to keep Worthing in the game – qtr time 8-6 to BHASVIC. The 2nd quarter was again a struggle and the Worthing girls could not convert the chances they had – half time BHASVIC still leading 13-11.

Coach Tina made some changes at half time introducing Ruth as gs and Liv at ga, Charlotte to centre and bringing Bethen on at gk with Iona gd. The girls started to play better throughout the court and convert the chances winning the quarter 14-7. Some nice drives from Ashlene at wa and good shooting – Worthing were leading 25-20 at 3 qtr time. In the final quarter Charlotte made at least 3 interceptions on the BHASVIC centre pass enabling us to increase our lead with Ruth and Liv sinking the shots. The final result was 36-24 to Worthing, still undefeated in the Sussex League.
