Worthing College netball 1st team hosted Christ Hospital in the 2nd round of the Sussex KO Cup. The girls started very well putting defensive pressure throughout the whole court – Iona and Bethen working tirelessly in defence with Kira and Charlotte backing them up stopping the ball going into the circle – qtr time was 21-4 to Worthing.

The girls continued to stay focussed in the 2nd quarter and some great feeding into the circle by Holly and Charlotte. Livvy and Shelby took their shots well and at half time it was 39-6 to Worthing.

The third quarter Cally was introduced into the match at wd with Kira switching to wa. Defensively we were still very strong throughout and only let in 2 goals for this quarter. Shelby and Livvy switched positions and still continued to increase the lead – 52-8 at 3 quarter time.

In the final quarter Iona switched back to gk with Bethen gd, only 1 goal conceded in this quarter due to relentless pressure by the Worthing girls. In attack Shelby was working well at ga with Livvy at gs with the centre court of Cally, Charlotte and Kira still working hard.

The final score was 69-9 to Worthing – player of the match Iona Gardner.
