WORTHING COLLEGE NETBALL SQUADS FINISH RUNNERS UP AT THE HAMPSHIRE OPEN

Worthing College took 2 netball teams to Southampton Sports Centre to play in the start of season Hampshire Open tournament. It was a good chance to see the quality of opposition that we would face in Hampshire this season – it did not take long to see that the standard was very high.

The 1st team had a mixed day beating Farnborough, Itchen, Brockenhurst and South Downs but losing to Barton Peveril and Peter Symonds. There was some great play at times but a lot to work on in training, the girls recognised this and look forward to improving for the next match.

The 2nd team played very well winning all 7 of their group matches qualifying top of their pool. They played Peter Symonds 3 in the semi final in a tough match winning narrowly 13-12. In the final they fought hard but lost against Farnborough 12-10 – a great tournament for the team who show some great promise for the season ahead.
