Worthing College men’s basketball team played BHASVIC at home in the AOC South League. Worthing starting 5 – A.Vincent, T.Pennels, A.Castro, F.Pulle, A.Betteridge.
Q1 – Worthing faced a full court press from BHASVIC early on, but it proved to be no problem for Worthing to break with Adam and Toby showing their experience keeping calm and controlling the game in the back court. Worthing knew BHASVIC preferred to play a fast paced offence, so the boys really worked hard defensively to slow them down, 1st quarter finished with Worthing down two points 14-1.
Q2 – Worthing defensively continued to contain BHASVIC forcing them to play a half court game. Tom Swindells came into the game providing some instant offence and Fernando continuously found gaps in the the BHASVIC defence. Worthing went into the half time down four points 28-32.
Q3 – BHASVIC decided to pull out the full court press at half time which proved to be a good decision as they found more energy on the offensive end as a result. The game started to pull away from Worthing but offensive efforts from Fernando kept it close.
Q4 – Coming into the final period Worthing down 41-49 found the gap too much to overcome and BHASVIC finished the game on top with the final score 55-73.
Fernando Pulle top scored for Worthing with 18 points, Tom Swindells had 15 points.
