Worthing faced a good Barnet and Southgate team on the 8th of March in the ECFA Elite League. Worthing started the half brightly, with Valentine scoring within the first 5 minutes, an impressive finish in the bottom left corner. Soon after, Worthing continued to put pressure on and Sara Tubby bagged herself a well-taken goal which she slotted past the keeper. Worthing were keeping the ball well, but Barnet and Southgate were posing a few threats with a couple of attempts on goal, but nothing which troubled Molly Towers. Half time soon coming, Southgate and Barnet conceded another goal, making it 3-0, Annie Rolf won the ball from midfield, played it around the box, Valentine Pursey set it back to her, she took a touch, and scored in the top corner.

In the second half, Barnet and Southgate were the first to score a clinical finish, looking much more positive then how they ended the first half. Worthing however secured their lead, when Annie drilled a ball through to Valentine who slid it past the keeper. 4-1 to Worthing. Worthing continued to press, and resulted in Worthing going 5-1 up with a left footed shot by Bethan, which went under the keeper. Worthing dominating now, but credit to Barnet and Southgate who continued to put pressure on Worthing’s defence. Worthing then finished the game, with a goal from the corner, which went straight in, from Bethan Roe. Great effort from both teams but Worthing came up with the 3 points.
