The netball squads travelled to Queen Marys College, Basingstoke for their Hampshire League fixtures on a cold but sunny afternoon. The first team had a good start against some tough opposition and throughout the first half there was nothing between the teams – half time score 18-18. In the 3rd quarter Lucy switched to centre with Kira in defence and the girls started to drive towards the ball better, plus put pressure on the passes coming down court. 3 quarter time was 25-23. In the final quarter the girls increased their lead and both Charlotte and Yasmin shot well. Final score was 33-27 to Worthing, player of the match was Kira Walters.

The 2nd team started very strong and put into place some great triangle work in the attack along side great pressure in the defence – 1st quarter was 8-2 to Worthing. The girls continued to dominate in the second quarter with Abby making her debut in the team at wd, settling in very well. Half time was 16-6.

The second half continued in the same way – Anna coming out nicely for centre passes, Phillippa and Maddy shooting well resulting in the 3rd quarter score 24-11. The final quarter showed Yo still sprinting down the court as centre and both Ruth and Emily dominating in defence. Final score was 33-18 and coach Tina was very pleased that the girls put into place exactly what they had worked on in training. Player of the match was Emily Erskine.
