WORTHING COLLEGE NETBALL 1ST TEAM V SOUTHDOWNS – A – W 33-19

Worthing College netball 1st team travelled to Southdowns College for the 1st match of the new year in the Hampshire League. The girls started off well passing the ball down court with ease and were leading 9-5 at the end of the 1st quarter. Lauren and Emily were introduced and the game continued to flow with Yasmin and Charlotte shooting well – half time was 17-12.

The 3rd quarter Worthing really dominated and Lucy played well at ga creating some lovely space and driving to the ball well. The centre court of Lauren, Kira and Faye worked well together combined with a good defence from Ruth and Emily – 3rd quarter score was 29-16. In the final quarter Cally came on to play centre very well but there were a few tired legs and both teams started to make a few errors. Final score was 33-19 to Worthing, a good performance for the first match after the Christmas break.

Player of the match – Yasmin Payne for her great shooting.
