Worthing College hosted Bedes in the quarter final of the Sussex Cup on a bitterly cold but sunny afternoon. Worthing did not get off to a good start with missed shots, poor passes and basic errors enabling Bedes to remain in the match – half time score was 14-13 to Worthing.

Coach Tina Price delivered a very stern team talk at half time and asked the girls to think about their own play and how they could improve. The second half was completely different and the Worthing girls started to play the excellent netball they are capable of. Yasmin and Charlotte started to sink all of their shots, Emily, Cally and Lucy intercepted the ball on numerous occasions and the feeding in from Kira and Faye was spot on. Worthing won the 3rd quarter 18-1!

In the final quarter Ruth came on to play wd with Lucy moving to ga and Worthing continued to dominate the game. They defended well throughout the court and created some great chances in attack managing a final result of Worthing 47 Bedes 23. A great second half performance girls.

Player of the match – Lucy Hawkins.
