The girls played Brockenhurst in a friendly match at Worthing RFC, the game was played as 4X15min quarters, which allowed everyone to get a good amount of game time. Worthing started strongly and went a try up through two brilliant pieces of skill from Bobby Haywood and Izzy Mayhew, which allowed Megan Brown to use her pace to score under the posts. This was quickly followed by another. Brock responded strongly with two of their own. Worthing then found themselves under pressure again and only some strong defence from Megan Brown and Linneke Gevers kept them out. Worthing then won a turnover and could exit from their half through some brilliant ball maintenance and strong carrying from Linneke and Destiny. This led to Worthing applying pressure on Brock and they broke.
Worthing now started dominating possession and were dancing round tacklers like they weren’t there through strong runs from Izzy Mayhew, Megan Brown and Emily Hind this was marshalled brilliantly by Bobby Haywood, who was given excellent service by scrum half Zoo Overton. The only blip in this was when Worthing got their defensive structure wrong and some good attacking work from Brock exploited it and scored under the posts. Worthing responded again with a score of their own from Megan Brown.
Final score: 59-15
