In the first half Worthing started quite slow, keeping possession of the ball early, but not really challenging the Bhasvic defence. About halfway through the half, some nice link up play from the middle three led to Niamh being open on goal, placing the ball neatly into the corner. Worthing kept the pressure on Bhasvic trying to limit their possession. After another set of good passing from Worthing, Beth found herself perfectly placed to finish the move off to make it 2-0. Keavy was next on the scoresheet, starting the move herself from Worthing’s half, playing some quick passes, eventually finding her back in the opposition’s 18 yard box, for an easy finish. 3-0 going into half time.
Worthing started the second half quickly, keeping all the pressure on Bhasvic’s defence, allowing them no time on the ball. A nice through ball from Valentine, gave Sara all the room she needed to slot away the first of the half. Worthing continued to keep the ball, passing quickly throughout the pitch, eventually leading to another through ball to Sara, who scored her second of the game. 5-0. Worthing won the ball back quickly from Bhasvic’s kick off, moving the ball efficiently round the pitch. The ball found itself out wide with Megan S, as she made a neat run down the wing, finding herself in the box for a quick shot. The shot bounced off the bar, but Sara was there to pick up the scraps heading it home into a gaping net. Some nice play between Beth and Valentine, left V just outside the box, powering her shot well away from the keeper’s reach. 7-0. A passing move started from Worthing’s centre backs, playing through almost every part of the pitch, led to Sara scoring her fourth of the afternoon, with a nice set from Niamh just outside the box. Beth rounded off Worthing’s game, with a nice individual run, allowing her to score her second of the game, and finish with a solid 9-0 win.
