Worthing Rugby 2nd XV 0 Sussex Downs 21

Heathfield RFC is a strange venue to be hosting a home fixture for a Worthing College rugby side. However the wet weather of late has turned every playable pitch into a sought after venue and this one was good!

The Greens turned a 50-0 drubbing where they were second best to everything in September in to a respectable 21-0 loss against the very strong Downs side. In the cold light of day this was slightly disappointing. Sounds strange but there was a valid claim for a Greens try in the first period and two other blown chances to score. In truth Sussex Downs were the better side, but on the day the Greens could rightly say they should have been closer.

More progress and some really strong performances from a number of players that are trying to put their hands up for Blues selection in the coming weeks.
