WORTHING COLLEGE WOMEN’S FOOTBALL V ITCHEN COLLEGE – H – W 3-1

Worthing College 3 – Itchen College 1 – Hampshire League

Worthing started off very quickly, pressing high and getting success in the Itchen half, Hayley Bridge getting a few chances in the Itchen’s 18 yard box. The first goal came from Valentine Pursey putting a through ball to Hayley Bridge who put the ball past the keeper. The second goal came from a goal kick from the hands of Molly Towers, the bounce taking it past the defence of Itchen and Valentine Pursey pressing on the goalkeeper and passing it to Hayley Bridge who slotted it in the goal. Itchen’s goal came from a misplaced pass from Molly Towers that came to an Itchen striker who placed it past Molly. The rest of the first half was very tight with both Worthing and Itchen getting scoring opportunities. The first half finished 2-1.

Second half – the second half was underway with both teams having opportunities. Worthing kept possession and taking the ball forward, Annie Rolf holding up the ball and an aerial ball to Valentine Pursey who shot with a save from the keeper, Valentine Pursey then put away the rebound to make it 3-1. Throughout the second half Worthing kept possession and defended well, making more and more opportunities with one touch passing around the Itchen players but were unable to make anymore goals. The game finished 3-1 to Worthing.
