Well girls what can I say, what a day.!! The day started with us losing our GK Faye Murton to illness and GD Chloe York to a sickness bug. Ruth Wenyeve had very kindly agreed to come along to score despite the awful conditions and very fortunately put her kit in her bag just in case. Well this was just in case. So off we went to Falmer in snow, sleet and high winds, the conditions were awful and the temperature below freezing. We played a great tournament, losing just two games all day to Brighton College and Hurstpierpoint, beating Ardingly 7-2, St Bedes 9-1, Collyers 12-0, Sackville 5-4, & Mayfield St Leonard 9-4. Bhasvic withdrew before the tournament started. Bearing in mind that four of the first team were missing the team performed outstandingly and were an absolute credit to me, the College and themselves. It was a really positive and enjoyable experience despite the conditions and the way the first team players supported their fellow team mates was a credit . On a day when all 8 girls were fantastic I must just give extra praise to Ruth Wenyeve who came to score, played 4 games and played as if she had been in the first team all season. A special mention too for Charlotte Lloyd who played in agony with shin splints and never complained once.

Girls you were a delight and whilst we missed out on qualifying for the Regional round by 1 point, I feel certain we can do well in the County Cup as there is nothing to fear out there.
