The game started with a bright start for Worthing as they dominated possession looking composed and sharp on the ball with Sara opening up the score sheet with a great strike into the top right hand corner.
The first goal gave Worthing even more of a boost as Annie Rolfe then flicked on the ball inside the box to lob the keeper. With lots of success starting to come down the wing for Worthing they looked to use Niamh and Sara to create opportunities. Sara received possession in behind Barking and drove inside to find Annie running towards goal who slotted home neatly past the keeper.

Second half started with Barking Abbey working hard to try and get back in to the game. Worthing handled the pressure well and with a strong back four managed to cope with their quick forwards and slow down the game keeping possession well.
After a nervy 5 minute start Worthing were awarded a corner and Niamh Andersson delivered more of a shot that went in towards back post and Valentine knocked in to the goal securing Worthing a 4-0 lead.
Worthing managed to grip hold of the game again after another goal and soon Baker found Hayley through 1v1 with the GK who slotted past the keeper into the bottom left hand corner. 3 changes where then made where Lucy Steel, Charlotte Hoskins and Brooke Pallant came on for Worthing. Charlotte Hoskins had a great first touch and managed to find Lucy Steel who neatly played through to Valentine to score her second goal into the top left hand corner. Niamh Andersson then found another space down the wing but this time drove inside to strike a brilliant shot into the top left hand corner. 7-0 wasn’t enough for Worthing as they still piled on the pressure and soon Sara was brought down badly on the wing and Worthing were awarded a free kick. Amelia Ritchie stepped up to deliver in to the back post where Emily Baker nearly got onto the score sheet.
The last goal of the game came from Danielle Rowe picking up Barking Abbey’s goal kick from 30 yards out and shooting from distance to beat the keeper. A great return to the league for Worthing to beat League leaders with a strong performance.
