Worthing College opened up their season with a home match to the winners of the league last year Brockenhurst. The team have many new faces this season due to the volume of players leaving last year and moving on to University. However with this being said Worthing still managed to run out comfortable winners 78-56. Coach Dom Baker was pleased with the result but knows his team need to improve. “I thought the lads did well as it was their first game playing together however they have to improve so much if we are in order to challenge for a national title which is our overall goal having come 3rd 2 seasons ago. Players need to be ready to work hard and improve every session. Today I saw some inexcusable turnovers and some all around lazy defence which at a higher level just won’t get you wins”. Worthing play Bhasvic at home next week in their second league game.
