Worthing College women’s football Sussex U19 Knockout Cup v BHASVIC Won 7-0
Worthing got off to the best start possible and scored after two minutes through Jodie Pallant after some neat combination play in the wide area getting it into the box where Jodie looped the ball over the goalkeepers head to make it 1-0 Worthing. Worthing were dominating proceedings with some one two touch passing moving the opposition around the pitch and making them chase the ball. The second goal came quite quickly through Caz Hodgson with a half volley again looping over the keeper’s head to make it 2-0 to Worthing. By this point Worthing were in full control and Bhasvic never got into Worthing’s half for the first ten minutes and were on the defensive constantly. Worthing’s passing and moving was really good creating chance after chance and a good pass through from back to front from Emily Baker saw Hayley Bridge get her first of the day with a great strike into the top corner 3-0. 3 became 4 when Brooke Pallant got herself on the score sheet with a great side foot finish that nestled nicely in the top corner, Worthing were looking ruthless in front of goal and 4 quickly became 5 through another goal from Hayley Bridge who found herself one v one after nice quick passing from the midfield players and cooly slotted home. Half time Worthing 5-0 BHASVIC 0.
Second half started a little bit differently, a change of shape for Worthing and a little bit more fight from Bhasvic allowed Bhasvic to have more of possession at the start and created one or two half chances but never really troubling Molly Towers in the goal for Worthing. Worthing then settled down and got to grips with the new formation 352 and got back to their passing game and scored midway through the second half as a great run and cross from Caz found Emily Baker in the middle who calmly slotted home to make it 6-0. Worthing did create more and more chances throughout the second half but were just off target on every occasion until Caz netted her second and Worthing’s seventh of the night to see off all hopes of a Bhasvic miracle and kill the game as a contest once and for all.
Worthing dominated from start to finish using the conditions in their favour, passing and moving the ball around nicely with some clinical finishes and throughly deserved to be crowned County Cup champions and with doing that managed to scoop the double after winning the Hampshire cup two weeks previously.
