WORTHING COLLEGE WOMEN’S FOOTBALL V KINGSTON – A – L 6-1

Kingston v Worthing ECFA League

Worthing always had their backs against the wall in the game as they had to start with only 10 players due to injuries and holidays, so no one could blame them for the start they had working tirelessly for each other fighting for their lives. Kingston managed to scramble two goals over the line in the first 15 minutes however Worthing managed to get a foothold in the game and managed to make a few chances of their own, pushing forward to try and get themselves back in the game. Worthing got caught by a long ball through and then just before half time Kingston missed a penalty but scored another goal to make it 4-0 at half time which was no reflection on the game as Worthing were working really really hard to fend off Kingston’s attacks.

Second half started in the worst possible way for Worthing as they conceded again however from there on Worthing were the better side and pushed on having two or three chances to score themselves and managed to get one coming from a great run from Midfield from Dan Rowe beating four players and squaring it to Annie rolf who lifted it over the goalkeeper 5-1. Although the game took its tool on Worthing and with some tired legs out there due to only playing with 10 players they conceded another goal final score 6-1. Although the question is if Worthing were to have a full 11 could the game been a different story, with certain tactics it may have been different.
