On Friday 7th Nov Worthing College netball squad headed to the K2, Crawley for the BCS South East Regional Tournament. They had a nervous start against Barton Peveril but soon got into their stride with some great shooting by Katy Begley and Rosanna O’Mahony winning the match 21-14. They easily won their next two matches against Reigate and Queen Marys with all of the squad taking the court at some point with different combinations gelling nicely.

The crunch game was next v Brockenhurst who the girls had previously lost to in the Hampshire League. The match was really tight going goal for goal and despite being 3 up Worthing couldn’t hold on and lost the match 13-12. They then picked themselves up for an impressive win against a strong Itchen College team to finish 2nd in their group.

Worthing’s final match was the 3rd place play off against Farnborough College. Though feeling tired as it had been a long day the girls played very well with Amelia Smith particularly impressive at gk. They managed to win the match 22 17 to finish 3rd in the South Region, an excellent result by all the squad. Looking forward now to National Schools on 22nd November.
