First home game of the season saw Havant come to Worthing College with only one team sadly due to injuries at their end. Due to absences at Worthing’s end it gave me an opportunity to bring three players up from the second team to give them a chance of first team netball.
We started with an attacking formation of Katy Begley, Rosanna O’Mahoney, Rebecca Farrow, giving Gemma Spencer Snell her debut at GD with Amelia Smith.
Worthing got off to an outstanding start with Katy Begley missing one of the 29 shots she had in the first 15 mins, which Rosanna picked up the rebound and score. Gemma played well at GD with Havant only scoring 6- quarter time 29-6. Changes at quarter time brought Sophie Quach on at Centre and Morgan Barnard WD and Beth Watson on at GA. After an intial settling in period Worthing stormed to a 48-10 half time lead. The squad of 10 were rotated giving everyone 2 or 3 quarters, and a finalscore of 90-21. Sophie, Morgan and Gemma all played extremely well and looked part of a first team. Well done girls.
