WORTHING COLLEGE MEN’S FOOTBALL 2ND XI VS. SOUTH DOWNS 1ST XI – BCS REGIONAL CUP R1 – A – WON 10-0

The Men’s Football Performance Programme 2nd XI took to the field for their only 2nd game of the season.  The opponents were South Downs in the BCS Regional Cup first round.

Worthing were out the redeem themselves from last season’s exit to Merrist Wood and with temporary manager Colin Illsley in charge (thanks Colin for your help and support today) the players put on a very positive performance running out 10-0 winners and deservedly put themselves into the hat for round 2.

Scorers on the day were captain Oscar Gamble, who secured the match ball with a hat trick, Jordan Welch added another brace to his stats for the season.  Magic Simbanda, Tyler Nightingill, Conor Bull, Ryan Mackley and George Dennis on debut all chipped in to provide a very comprehensive scoreline.

Performance Programme coach was extremely happy to see the squad progress into round 2 “I’m really pleased to hear from Colin that the performance was a positive one and it was great to see 4/5 players make their debuts for the programme, which shows that all the hard work these players are putting in on the training field and gym is paying off in terms of their game intelligence and awareness.  I’m looking forward to the squad taking this education into the rest of the season and the next round of this competition.”

Onwards & Upwards,

Hallsy
