Worthing suffered a 5-1 defeat away to John Madejski Academy in Reading. This score-line didn’t reflect the game which was relatively close, with Worthing playing some great football at times. JMA were unable to play through Worthing, who kept great defensive shape but, got their first goal from a well-taken free-kick, the second goal came from a long shot that took a ricochet off the crossbar and seemed to bounce back out but the linesman awarded the goal. JMA added a 3rd close to half time. The 4th and 5th goals came in the second half, one coming from a counter attack as the JMA right winger ran the length of the pitch with the ball and squared it to a teammate in the 6 yard box, her pace caused the Worthing defence problems the whole game. Worthing managed to get a well-deserved goal through Emily Johnson who found the back of net from a cross played in by Annie Rolf, but it was too little too late, full time 5-1. Player of the match for Worthing was Danielle Rowe.
