Worthing College Women’s Football 1st XI v BARKING ABBEY – H – W 2-0

Yesterday the girl’s football academy took on Barking Abbey in their second ECFA Premier League game of the season. The girls started strong in the first half holding their shape and not letting the opposing team through, we had three one-on-one chances in the first half but failed to find the back of the net. With a positive half time talk from James it got the girls motivated to go out and win. In the second half we took James’ advice and put a ball through to Caroline where she used her pace to dribble it through to put it past the keeper getting us our first goal. We continued the positive momentum and not long after Caroline found Hayley in space for her to finish it, we were then 2-0 up. After the two goals we kept focused and stayed strong until the final whistle was blown. James, Dan and the whole team were delighted with our first win of the season and a confident performance. Hopefully many more to come.
Player of the match: Milan Hyde and opposition pom Annie Rolf
