The girls are playing in the Premier Division of the Worthing Netball League on a Monday night to push them and give them the opportunity to play against regional players in an effort to improve their chances of success in the competitions that matter, the County Cup, Hampshire League and National Schools.
Week one saw them play the team that won the Summer League where they lost 74 -19, a baptism of fire but I am delighted to say they never gave up and the opposition said the score did not reflect the game.
This week the focus was on accurate passing, ball possession – sadly despite two hours of work before the game, we treated the ball like a hot potato and were far too quick for our own good. We missed too many opportunities to pass an accurate ball into the circle and this area needs a lot more work. On the plus side, the defence worked extremely well, with Amelia Smith player of the match. Equally our work rate was 100% and we achieved our aim of half score (just). First point won in the league.
