Worthing 3 – 0 Sussex Downs

This was a tougher game than expected, Sussex managed to put out a strong team and albeit Worthing had the vast majority of possession it didn’t result in a goal until Amy Green took a short corner and upon receiving the ball back curled a shot into the far post. Worthing had numerous opportunities but many were snuffed out by a resolute Sussex Downs defence.

The second half started in a similar manner with Worthing having lots of possession and many shooting opportunities. It wasn’t until another short corner midway through the half that Izzy Burt was able to convert a similar shot as Amy Green’s first half attempt, Sussex threatened on the counter attack but all efforts were dealt with quite comfortably by the defence and goalkeeper.

Another set piece late on found Chloe Johnson unmarked in the box and she headed home to make it 3-0.

This was Worthing’s seventh straight final win in this competition.

Player of the Match Amy Green orchestrated nearly all of Worthing’s attacks.
