Netball – Worthing College 58 v South Downs 21

A little trip along the A27 to South Downs College on Wed was the treat for the Netballers to a college of over 5000 students so it was felt they would have a team that would be hard to play against.  Game was indoors which pleased some but not all (coach was happy). Game started well with Worthing taking a 4-0 lead however that soon disappeared as South Downs hit back with the next 3 goals. This spurred Worthing into life and we scored 9 without reply. Having taken a squad of 9, everyone was going to get mins so changes made at quarter time did not intrupt Worthings form as we finished second quarter 25-8, further changes made and a challenge set of scoring 15 goals next quarter – we surpassed that scoring 18 to end third quarter 43 – 13. The final changes made and Worthing continued in fine form ending the game 58-21. Particularly pleasing for the coach was the manner of the win, strong defensive work from everyone which had been the theme of training and good passing throughout the court.
