Worthing v Chichester (BCS Cup Rd 1) Women’s Football 6/11 Won 2-0

Worthing started very quickly and played some very good passing football on a very bumpy soggy pitch, Chichester’s game plan was to defend very deep creating a large barrier for Worthing to attempt to scale, Worthing had a great number of attempts but Chichester’s players seemed to always be there to block shots, collect rebounds and again the goalkeeper was in great form, eventually after 25 minutes a ball feel to Aliss Pidduck after another attempt on goal and she prodded the ball home.

The half finished 1-0 which of course kept Chichester’s spirits up and they defended for their lives the second half with Worthing again keeping patient staying in possession, Chichester did have a couple of breaks when Worthing pushed players forward but Rebecca Simmonds was in good form to snuff out any attempts, after creating fewer opportunities but passing well Worthing scored the second on 75 mins through Rebekah Dunt running onto a through ball and shooting high into the top corner.
