Worthing college played Collyers college this week at Worthing lesuire centre and rolled out 82-60 winners. However Collyers college showed up with only 5 players due to injury and unforeseen circumstances. The match was forfeited by the Collyers coach so Worthing win 20-0 however Coach Baker agreed with the coach they may aswell play a friendly. The head coach for the opposition suited up former Worthing college student Ben Evans and current gym instructor Josh Brown suited up to even out the numbers. Worthing took a quick lead as they often do and ended the first quarter 20-4. But Josh brown hit 3 after 3 in the second quarter totalling 5 3s which brought Collyers back into the game 50-42 at half time. With a switch in defence and excellent zone offence from Ash Francis and Dustin Marquez Worthing pulled away to win the game by a comfortable 20 plus win. The victory puts the team to 3-1 on the season, “the development of the squad is pleasing and I can clearly see progression from some new players, dean Richardson hit 2 big 3 pointers today, Ash Francis continues to learn and today his aggressive attitude on offence was pleasing to see. Aaran Veale has been a great and unexpected addition to the team” said coach Dominic Baker. Worthing now how a week off before their next fixture due to half term.
