Brokenhurst v Worthing

Worthing college lost their first game of the season this week in a close fought match against Bockenhurst college. Worthing were only down by 2 points after the first periods and played some great stints of basketball, however due to a lack of size and depth trailed by 11 at the half. With a poor 3rd quarter the game was out of reach! Due to illness and injury Worthing only had 8 players coach Dom Baker was pleased with the performance against a very good side in Brokenhurst!

“Sam Gulla and Connor mountifield really are stepping up to the mark and in my opinion could both play some form of basketball at a professional level, however continued development and improvement is needed from both of them. With our lack of size and depth we really need to get more productivity out of our bench players. But with Ash Frances and Josh Edwards continuing to improve I am pleased with how the squad are shaping up”. A mention also has to go to Aaron Another strong performance defensively, he’s been a real surprise this year and his development as a basketball player is very pleasing.
