Worthing College Women’s Football Academy have added to this seasons successes again this week without kicking a ball. With one league game to play 2nd team have been confirmed as BCS Performance League Champions. They have come out on top after playing against all 1stteams from Colleges throughout the South East of England, with their nearest challengers BHASVIC losing their game to Brockenhurst. This is a great achievement for the squad who only lost 1 game all season and have a goal difference of 40 goals from their 13 games so far this season. This season has also seen a number of the squad step up to the 1st team who playing in the BCS Elite League against the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea.
Michael Bridges Sports Academy Coordinator was ‘delighted with this achievement shows how far the Women’s Football programme has come with a 1st team who are competing against the best in the country and a 2nd team who are winning competitions against all 1st teams in the South East.’
The Women’s Football Academy are now setting their sights on a fourth trophy of the season with the Final of the Sussex League Knockout’s against Chichester College on Monday 9th May. They have already won the Sussex County Cup, Sussex 6-a-sides, reached the Quarter Final of the English Schools Cup and now won the BCS Performance League.
